Munir Bannoura was born and raised in the city of Bethlehem in the West Bank of the Jordan River. Munir graduated in 1974 with a bachelor's degree of science. Upon graduation Munir joined Burroughs Corporation as a product engineer, working for the corporation in both, Michigan and Scotland, UK.
In 1978, Munir joined the National Institute of Electricity and Electronics in Algeria, North Africa as Electrical Engineering professor, and in 1984 Munir joined Motorola Technical Training Operations as a customer trainer and course developer. Munir has traveled world-wide to train Motorola/Freescale customers on advanced microprocessor and microcontroller product lines.
Munir has written several books including a book with Amy Dyson on how to microcode the Time Processor Unit titled "TPU Microcoding for Beginners" a second book with Richard Soja titled "MPC5554/MPC5553 Revealed", a third book with Margaret Frances titled "eTPU Programming Made Easy" a fourth book with Rudan Bettelheim and Richard Soja titled "ColdFire Microprocessors and Microcontrollers" and a fifth book with Richard Soja and Rudan Bettelheim titled “Flexis & ColdFire V1 Microcontrollers“. Due to customers interest, some of his books were translated in Chinese and Japanese languages.
Munir lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
